With a unique structure designed to protect indefinitely, Forest & Trees is a nonprofit organization governed by a perpetual purpose trust that ensures Christ-centered missions remain faithful and flourishing for generations.
Forest & Trees is designed to provide generational stewardship for mission-aligned, Christ-centered organizations serving communities over time. The first and founding organization under our canopy is Christ Health Center, a healthcare nonprofit serving the Woodlawn community of Birmingham. As we grow, other organizations will be added, consistent with the governing perpetual purpose trust.
Nonprofit organizations under our canopy remain perpetually secure in their founding purpose, with Forest & Trees as the root system beneath them: unseen, steadfast, and designed to hold through every season. It is our focus on permanence — on faithful stewardship, rooted in community impact, that will grow forever — that transforms each gift into something that will endure and have impact for generations.

We believe we have been called to create Forest & Trees to best steward generosity. So that when abundance comes, it is not wasted, but multiplied for generations. It is a covenant we enter into with donors and Christ-centered organizations to protect sacred purpose and place, and plant seeds for tomorrow.
Not a dollar of your gift is spent on overhead — 100% goes directly to mission, through direct support of aligned organizations or provision of mission-aligned facilities via real estate stewardship and triple-net lease. The remainder is invested into the Forest & Trees endowment fund, where it compounds over time, widening the reach of every organization we steward. Gifts can be in the form of cash, appreciated assets, or real estate.
